Directions: Suppose you have just participated in a school project of collecting used books on campus. You are now to write a report about the project, which may include its aim, organizers, participants and activities. You will have 30 minutes to write the report. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.

A Report on the Project of Collecting Used Books

On May 20th, the Student Union organized a project of collecting used books, with the purpose of inspiring students

to make the best of used things. A total of 100 volunteers participated in this activity.

To begin with, students registered basic personal information online, including the name, department and the number of books that they would like to give away. Later on, donors brought their books to the Student Activity Center between 8:00 am and 11:00 am, after which they could get some gifts in return, such as pens and notebooks. Then people in need could get the donations for free, which can turn “waste” into wealth. At last, more than 600 used books found new readers, and 500 were collected for the Hope Elementary School.

All in all, such volunteer activity is of great significance and should be organized more frequently. Not only can it save resources and prevent waste, but also greatly enhance college students’ environmental conscientiousness.
