英语中的“回绝”decline,refuse,reject和deny的差异

关于“回绝”，有几个单词可以标明，别离是： decline, refuse, reject 和 deny，它们尽管都有回绝的意思，可是在口气强度上有所不一样。

1.deny

意思是“否定、回绝”

（1）“否定”的意思，当你否定某件事时,就是不是认它的真实性。这今后可接名词、代词、动名词或that从句。

例：

To live in this world we must deny the world.

例：

He declined their invitation.

他谢绝了他们的聘请。

He offered the boys some coffee. They declined politely.

他要给男孩们来些咖啡。他们礼貌地回绝了。

The company declined to comment.

该公司回绝作出谈论。

3.refuse

意思是“回绝”，可是口气比decline强,富含非常坚决地、不谦让地回绝的意味。这今后接接名词或代词以及动词不定式。

常用句型：refuse to do sth., refuse sb./sth

例：

They said I cannot refuse any customers.

他们说我不能回绝任何客人。

If I were you, I should

refuse his invitation.

假定我是你的话，我会回绝他的聘请。

4.reject

意思是“回绝”、“驳回”，口气比refuse更强，是正式用词，偏重不承受、不采用别人的定见、主张、恳求等，也可标明标明因为客观条件不契合规则的标准而遭到回绝。后一般只接名词或代词,不能接动词不定式。

He reject me without hesitation.

他毫不犹疑地回绝了我。

Would you please ask her out ,so she can reject you, and we can get on with our life.
